Applying God's Principles & Nutrition!

Spiritual Nutrition

Healthy Eating for the Christian Heart focuses on the development of healthy spiritual habits by identifying five core spiritual nutrients and comparing them to their physical counterparts:

•Prayer is like water-vital for life and essential for survival.
•Bible study is like protein necessary for growth.
•Christian fellowship is like carbohydrates-gives us energy.
•Worship is like healthy fats-helps keep our hearts healthy.
•Thinking on good things is like vitamins-necessary for helping the other nutrients work effectively.

Spirit And In Truth

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: John 15:26

What Will 2010 Bring

2009 has been a challenging year for many people. Actually ever since 911 unfolded, the war in Iraq, and the hard hit economy things have slowly been unfolding and worsening. But what of next year and 2010? What will 2010 bring for America and the world?

If the last couple of years and especially 2009 are any indication of things to come. Then we all must be prepared, be wise and buckle down on our spending and over spending. Saving and setting money aside could be what sees many of us through difficult times. Being good stewards of our money, how we spend it and what we spend it on is a important part of that. May we all put things into perspective and be prepared for the seasons to come.

Come To Christ And Dwell In The House Of The Lord For Ever.

God has given us a glimpse of a future which is heavenly, eternal and glorious: ‘the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God – It shone with the glory of God’. Is this ‘eternal life’ for everyone? Will all people ‘dwell in the House of the Lord for ever?’ Will everyone be saved? Is this what the Word of God teaches? ‘God wants everyone to be saved.’ He wants everyone to ‘come to the knowledge of the truth’, to ‘come to repentance.’ Sadly, there are many who ‘refuse to love the truth and so be saved’ (Revelation 21:10-11; John 3:16; Psalm 23:6; 1 Timothy 2:3-4; 2 Peter 3:9; 2 Thessalonians 2:10). Who will be saved? – ‘only those, whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life’. ‘Come’ to Christ – ‘Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they…may go through the gates into the city’ (Revelation 21:27; 22:17,14).

Is There Division In You're Home

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

However, Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

The Rock & The Hard Places

I'm sitting here listing to a message called "The Rock & The Hard Places" being preached by Pastor Matthew Hagee of Cornerstone Church on TBN. Wow! what a rock solid biblical message filled with truth, the word of God, encouragement and hope. Just listening to this message stirs the spirit within me, fills me with faith and just flat out encourages me.

We need more Pastors and Preachers that preach the truth of God's Word and feed us with the full counsel of the Word of God, rather than this seeker sensitive fast food emotion driven Christianity. This message "The Rock & The Hard Places" is filled with great stuff.

Wrestling With God

Just imagine wrestling with God. There you are the created wrestling with the creator. Now that sounds like a fun deal, wrestling with God. There is a certain person in the Bible that wrestled with a angel. Do you know who that was? Fuel for thought.

There is one way that you can wrestle with God. Prayer. It's good to come boldly before the Throne of Grace and cry out to God for those things that we need God's intervention in. You might be saying not so. Well look at it this way, you can rend your garments, or rend your heart. what is it to rend your heart?

Personally I believe that God loves it when we come before Him and wrestle with Him about a specific matter. I mean if you were seeking God for healing would you only ask once or continue to ask until you were healed? What if you were praying about one of your children around a specific matter of great importance, would you ask once and that's it?

Pray without ceasing. 1 Th 5:17

Do Not Lord Over God's Sheep

Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Psalm 12:6 -The Words Of The Lord Are Pure Words” (Part Three).

Reading the words of the Psalmist, “The words of the Lord are pure words” (Psalm 12:6), brought to mind the words of the Apostle Paul – “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst” (1 Timothy 1:15). In responding to the wonderful grace which reached him through Christ, Paul echoes the Psalmist’s emphasis on the purity of the holy God who speaks to us through His holy Word – “But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. 17Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen” (1 Timothy 1:16-17). As we receive mercy from the Lord, we rejoice in His trustworthiness. Deeply conscious of our sin, which He so graciously forgives, we become deeply conscious of His holiness, and we bow before Him in worship. The greatness of His holiness and the greatness of His mercy – the two belong together. They remind us that we, who haven saved by grace, are called to holiness. In our journey along “the High Way of Holiness” (Isaiah 35:8), we have the Word of God as our pure and trustworthy guide.

Psalm 12:6 - "The Words Of The Lord Are Pure Words” (Part Two).

In reading the words of Paul, I note that he describes himself as “the worst.” What a wonderful contrast there is between what Paul was before he was saved by the Lord Jesus and what he became after the Lord had saved him. What a great testimony Paul had – I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 1:12-14).

Psalm 12:6 - “The Words Of The Lord Are Pure Words” (Part One).

God’s Word is pure. God’s Word is trustworthy. Take these two thoughts together. We think of the perfection of God’s Word. Let’s also give thanks for His perfect love. there is no love like the love of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. He loves us with the greatest love of all. There can be nothing more perfect than this – the love of Jesus. Where do we learn of His love? We learn of His love as we read God’s Word – “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so”, I am so glad that my Father in heaven tells of His love in the Book He has given. Wonderful things in the Bible I see. This is the greatest that Jesus loves me.”

Mind Boggling All Time High Of 1.42 Trillion Dollar Deficit.

I'm just wondering how many business could operate, function and be permitted to stay in business owing 1.42 trillion dollars. We are not talking about millions or even a few billion dollars, we are talking about almost 1.5 trillion. Somethings wrong, drastically wrong and the American people are paying for and being held accountable for the mess.

It seems that there are a hundred if not a thousand excuses for the mess, however no one takes responsibility or is held accountable as the American people are being offered excuses and all these great new plans on how to fix the mess.

All these financial disasters, the economy, the mortgage problems, the stock market problems, banking problems and every other financial problem has brought great depression on America as people are suffering all do to mis managment and poor leadership.

Pray that God would place true leaders, honorable leaders and leaders of integrity in our government, that the citizens of America would be freed of those who place them in bondage, debt, and that bring depression upon our nation and people. Pray that righteousness, truth and true leadership comes forth and that the American people are set free from leaders that lack Godly wisdom.

This One Only Comes Out Through Much Prayer

Have you ever encountered a person that is so bitter and hateful that peace escapes them? It's like all they do is complain and complain and complain. Nothing satisfies them. It doesn't matter how perfect the day is, how much money they have and so on. They are just flat out miserable. It's sad to see a life go to waste filled with bitterness.

No matter how much you try to help them, cheer them up, bless them and so on. Nothing helps. They just feed off of you and your kindness and compassion. It's as if they are filled with bitter, hateful, miserable spirits.

This one comes out only through much prayer.

Walking In The Secuirty & Protection Of Christ's Words

The Words Of Christ.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Eating To Much Junk Food

For many years my eating habits were fast food, fast dinners and lots of snacks. When your younger, it's like you can get away with eating all that junk. However as the years went by, my eating habits started catching up with me and this led to some health problems that slowly crept up on me.

After doing some online studies about the food we eat, what's good for us and what's not. I started changing my eating habits. After a few months I started noticing a difference in my health. It's amazing how the foods we eat can affect our health. If your feeling a little sluggish, tired and lacking in energy. You might consider a diet change. If your encountering heart problems, cut out the coffee, junk food and lay off the salt. Perform a online search that shares heart healthy foods. It can make a huge difference.

Healthy eating leads to living a healthier life.

Preparing For Severe Weather Conditions

Friday, October 02, 09, Many feel that we are in for some severe whether as the winter months unfold. Over the last 5 years we have watched the weather patterns continue to change. Increased tornado's, hurricanes and especially flooding. Flooding that has overtaken entire cities and forced millions to run for dry lands like in Louisiana.

If this years winter months bring more severe weather patters, tornado's and especially flooding do to rains and hurricanes. We can expect potentially the same destruction. On another note California has experiences lots of fires which makes for perfect mudslide conditions with storms and heavy rains. The Midwest of course deals with extreme cold, snow, ice and blizzards.

Regardless of where in the United States you live. Don't wait until the storms overtake you. Be prepared and have provisions set aside just in case. Let us take advantage of the situations of the past and apply wisdom for potential situations in the future.

Bible Studies, Word Searches & Great Study Tools

Do you love reading and studying the scriptures? Many many years ago I found myself using the King James Bible and The Strong's Exhaustive Concordance to do all my Bible studies. Very time consuming. Then the day came when I got my first computer and a friend shared blueletterbible.com with me. Wow! Did my studies take on a whole new form, not to mention that they became much easier and expanded. If you haven't seen blueletterbible.com give it a try. You'll love it.

Being Christ Like At Home

Anyone can put there best colors on to attend church. It's easy to be at your best when we are all gathered together singing songs, praying and interacting. However where the true test comes is at home. How a husband treats his wife or how a wife treats her husband is when fruit is either comes forth or fruitless trees come forth. How a father or mother treats their children individually and/or as one is another great test. Yes we all can play the part and act the role, even climbing the church ladder of respect in the eye's of others, Yet the real test is in our everyday family lives at home.

May we all become better husbands, wives, fathers and mothers daily.

“By Grace You Have Been Saved …”

By birth, David was ‘the son of Jesse’. By grace, he was ‘the man who was raised on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, the sweet psalmist of Israel’ (2 Samuel 23:1). What we are in ourselves is nothing compared with what we can become through the grace of God! Look at David. Listen to what he says, ‘The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me, His Word is upon my tongue’ (2 Samuel 23:2). What had David done to deserve this? What was so special about him? Nothing – This was the work of God, the work of divine grace. In ourselves, we are ‘godless’, good for nothing, ‘like thorns that are thrown away’ (2 Samuel 23:6). In ourselves, we are not ‘mighty men’ (2 Samuel 23:8-9). How can we be changed? – ‘The Lord wrought a great victory’ (2 Samuel 23:10, 12). Which of us can be described as ‘a valiant man… a doer of great deeds’ (2 Samuel 23:20) – apart from the grace of God? ‘By grace you have been saved…’ (Ephesians 2:8-10)

The Road Runner & The Coyote

Have you ever seen the cartoon, the Road Runner & The Coyote? If you have then you are familiar with the show. It's about this cool roadrunner that pretty much minds his own business and this Coyote that is flat out a pain in the butt. The Coyote is sneaky, always hiding and is always trying to mess with the Road Runner.

Do you ever feel that way? Like your just trying to enjoy life while making ends meet and there's this darn Coyote that's always messing with you? Many call it bad luck or carma. Some people are so obsessed with it that they perform rituals to try and break the curses. Other's pay psychics to perform white magic to break off the curses of black magic. Here's a thought:

Jesus said "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord."

Let Jesus deliver you from the Coyotes in your life and set you free.

Is A One World Currency Coming

OK, this topic has been around for many years. However, we seem to be hearing more and more about a one world currency in the mainstream news and from government officials around the globe. Just imagine all the things that would be involved in changing over to a one world currency. It would take a major world situation to bring about a instantaneous change over. The world economy would have to crash or at least appear to have crashed.

Personally, I like the United States currency. I can't imagine America being America without our currency. Not having it would be like not having the American flag, or the Constitution of the United States.

God Bless America.

Finding Great Products And Services At Great Savings

The wise steward stewards his or her money with wisdom. As Christians, God calls us to be wise stewards regarding many aspects of our lives and one of those aspects is our money. Over the years, I have learned to be very careful with my money in the sense of spending. Today $100.00 does last very long. With the cost of living, rents, mortgages, utility bills, insurance, medical needs and yes even the price of food. One must be wise and a wise steward to make ends meet.

One way to accomplish this is how and where we spend our money. A trip to the mall can get quite expensive. Even household cleaning items can add up quite quickly. I encourage you to look into buying some of your needs through online stores and websites. There are many great sites out there that offer quality products, great services and even offer free shipping at discounted prices. All you have to do is Google the item, product or merchandise that your in need of. It's simple, fun and well worth the rewards.

Saving money on the items you purchase puts extra cash in your pockets. :)

When Hope Is Lost

Hope is like a rich high octane fuel that propels us forward. However, when false hopes have been poured into us, the end result can lead to great depression, feelings of hopelessness, lost trust and our faith can be damaged.

Rivers Of Information & Knowledge

There are endless amounts of information that is available on the Internet. If you need to find it, it can be found on the Internet. There's the good, the bad and the ugly out there for all eye's to see. Just imagine some of the damage that can be caused.

Over the years I have maintained many websites, forums and become members of other sites and forums. Back in around 2006 I started getting involved in the blogging world and started building a Christian Blogging Network which has grown to over 150 blogs plus interaction in other blogging communities. It's hard work to maintain a network, however it's also fun.

Just imagine all the people around the world that you could reach. Just imagine all the pearls that God has sown into the good ground of your heart that you could share and bless others with. Let me encourage you to start a blog and share the love of God with others around the world. Create a river of good things and watch it flow to the nations. Together, we can all make a difference.

You Never Know What Life Can Bring

As I'm sure that you are aware of, the flu season will be coming soon. Last year my daughter and wife caught a bad case of the flu. My daughter recovered in around seven days, however my wife ended up in the hospital in ICU. The virus that she caught ended up attacking her heart, damaging her heart mussel and almost took her life. She left the hospital 7 days later with heart failure, a pacemaker and a heart that only functioned at 20%. That was in December of 2008. By June of 2009 her heart was functioning at 33% as some improvement has come forth. Life has changed to say the least. My wife before this illness was in perfect health. Who would have thought.

With the flu season soon to come and fears of a swine flu epidemic. Be wise and take precautions to protect your health and that of your family.

Those Flaring Nostrils

Have you ever watched a bull right before it attacks. It bites in with it's legs, takes a stance, and flairs it's nostrils. Very much like when anger comes to human beings. The angry dig in deep, take their stance, make a vicious face and flair their nostrils. Then of course there are all the words that come forth fueled by enough bitterness, frustrations and anger to slay their victims. Usually after they have spewed pure lava against another or others, they feel as if they have accomplished something, as if they have won.

The truth is, the angry bring destruction upon themselves.

Are You Considering A Relationship With God

As I've grown older, I've looked back over the seasons and simply remembered all the years and seasons I've encountered. There have been great times, good times, extremely difficult and challenging times and even down right seasons of depression. Of course many of those seasons that were not so good were seasons walking in darkness and not knowing God. However, as the years came when I started seeking God and a relationship with Jesus, life seemed to make more sense. It was the years of not knowing God that life seemed more like a maze with very little meaning.

If your encountering seasons whereas life just seems to be beating you up, and you're always struggling. Consider seeking God, coming to know Christ as your Lord and Savior and allowing God's grace to flow in you're life. Find a local church fellowship that you can attend and where others in Christ can encourage you, mentor you and help you.

There is peace and fullness of joy for those who seek and find, for those whom knock and the door is opened unto them. There is a wonderful relationship with Jesus awaiting all those who seek Him. For Jesus will meet you with open arms.

Seeds That Produce Destruction

We all occasionally encounter anger. Anger is one of the ways we express many different emotions. That is to say that under the anger can be a variety of feelings and emotions. Yet when anger becomes rage and enters into those uncontrollable stages, that anger is dangerous and can bring destruction to all that experience it. Un controllable anger can destroy a home, a family, a marriage and even close friendships. It is like a flood that overtakes people and their lives.

Here are some proverbs on anger: Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife. He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated. Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:

Reaching Out To Others In Need

Our world is filled with people in need. Even the very city or community that you live in is filled with hurting people. Sometimes it's the fatherless child down the street, or a single mother that is struggling. Other times it is some one's mother or father, our senior citizens. Other times it's a widow, or a troubled lost teenager. Regardless of the age, situation of circumstance, there are many hurting people within our communities.

There is a saying that I dealy love. "Look, See & Do Something."
Blessings come through reaching out to those in need.

Teachers, Schools And Our Children

Thank God for all the teachers that dedicate their lives to teaching our children. Truly, there are some wonderful, compassionate and caring teachers out there. It takes a special person to be a teacher and teachers make our world a better place.

However, and as thankful as we all should be for teachers and the school system. We must also be watchful of what our children are learning at school. Not just in the classroom, but outside the classroom from other children. We should also make sure that our children learn about God and that they read the bible. Why? well look at it this way. Bible.

Have you ever heard those slogans, like Join The Movement, or come experience this and that. It amazes me some of the slogans that we can come up with regarding church conferences and events. Personally, I've had a blast at many church conferences and events.

Count the Cost Before You Open The Door

In life, we daily make choices. Many times our decisions are not led by wise thoughts, but through selfish desires. When this occurs we many times open doors and enter into difficulties. For example a person that is out partying and drinking. While in the bar and setting, everything seems fine. The person may have drink after drink while having fun at the same time. Oh, what the heck, one last drink. Soon thereafter the establishment closes and that very same person is now driving their car. A few blocks later and crash, there's a accident. Someone is insured, vehicles are damaged and the person that decided to drive after drinking too much is arrested for drunk driving. A few nights in jail, a trip to court, a few thousand dollars in fines, the lost of driving privilege and oh how life has changed.

You see many times there are prices to pay for the decisions and choices we make. Not all things are fruitful. Many times our choices and decisions can affect not only our lives, but the lives of others. Within such we fail to count the cost or count the consequences.

Be wise, count the cost, make wise decisions and do the right thing.

God's Call - Live A Holy Life.

Some people tell us that “it doesn’t matter how we live because how we live doesn’t matter.” They also tell us that “it doesn’t matter what we believe because what we believe doesn’t matter.” They tell us that “anything goes.” Is this a “new” way of thinking? No! It’s as “old as the hills.” Go back to the third chapter of Genesis. God says one thing. The “serpent” says something else. Who are we to believe? Who are we to follow? ... What are we to do? We must begin by trusting in Jesus Christ as our Saviour. God’s Word tells us that “all who receive Him, believing in His Name, become children of God” (John 1:12). We come to God with the prayer, “Create in me a pure heart, O God … “(Psalm 51:10). God speaks to us His answer – “the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from every sin” (1 John 1:7). This is the greatest love of all. There’s nothing more wonderful than this – “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15). “God … has saved us.”There is also something else that He has done – He has called us to a holy life.” This has nothing to do with “anything we have done.” We have done nothing to earn God’s salvation. By ourselves, we cannot live a holy life. This has everything to do with “the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ” and “the power of God” (2 Timothy 1:8-9).

“He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do” (1 Peter 1:16).

Key's That Open The Doors To A Wonderful Blessed Life

Just imagine if your house was not built on concrete, but rather sand. Things could become very unstable at any given time. A earthquake could occur, or a winter storm. There could be a flood, or even a mudslide. The results could be very bad. Just imagine all the potential possibilities for disaster if your house was built on sand. Now imagine your life being built on sand.

Here are the words of Jesus on the matter. Life changing words that are over 2,000 years old, yet eternal.

They key is reading, knowing and understanding the sayings of Jesus.

Celebrate Life

Life should be like a celebration and filled with joy. Yes there are difficult times, hardships and we all encounter those mountains that hinder us and set us back. Regardless, life is wonderful, planet earth is wonderful and being a part of the human race is wonderful. The problem many times is where is that race taking us?

The fast lanes of life. No doubt that if we get on that fast lane of life, we can soon find ourselves burnt out. That freeway offers freedom, yet ends in bondage. Life should be filled with peace, happiness, joy and a overall sense of well being. Jesus spoke of the wide and broad path saying many go therein and it leads to destruction. Jesus also spoke of the straight and narrow, that few find, and that it leads to everlasting life. Which path have you found?

Make That Call, Send That Letter

Is there someone that you've lost contact with? Maybe a old high school friend, maybe a old co worker, maybe a relative or close close family member? We all get busy and the freeway of life just seems to consume our time. Grandparents, uncles, aunts, best friends and people that we've spent time with just seem to fall onto the back burners of our life. Many times we are reminded of those people in thought. We make plans to contact them, but life's freeway once again consumes us. Maybe the Holy Spirit is putting someone on your heart right now. Take time and make that call. You just might put a smile on some one's face.

Blessings, in Christ.

We All, Can Make A Difference

Remember, we all can make a difference. In our homes, in our communities, with our families, on the job and at every corner. Each one of us has something to add to our world to make it a better place. Take time and make time to make a difference, a positive difference in the lives of others. Be a blessing to others and encourage them with your love and friendship.

Making A Difference One Life At A Time

It's a big world out there with countless people. People that are in need of friendship. People that are in need of love. Just imagine even the vast oceans of people online. Within such there are people that are handi capped, people that don't drive, that can't get around, senior citizens, the sick, and yes even widows and those confined to their homes. Many of them spend hours online reading and seeking online relationships. What a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others simply by being a online Friend. Reach out and make a difference, one life at a time.

The Merciful Compassionate Judge

Thank God for forgiveness. That we have right to come before a Throne, not of judgement, but of grace. That when we confess our sins, He, Christ, is faithful to forgive us. That mercy triumphs over judgement. Amen

Looking To The Lord, We Are ‘Radiant.’

The Lord has ‘delivered’ us. He has ‘saved’ us (Psalm 34:4-6). Rejoicing in God’s salvation, we say, ‘I will bless the Lord at all times’(Psalm 34:1). We call upon others to worship the Lord with us – ‘O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His Name together!’(Psalm 34:3). We invite them to trust in the Lord and come to know the joy of His salvation – ‘O taste and see that the Lord is good! Happy is the man who takes refuge in Him!’(Psalm 34:8). We encourage them to keep on hearing the Word of the Lord so that they may learn to walk with God – ‘Come, O sons, listen to me, I will teach you the fear of the Lord’(Psalm 34:11). We seek to lead people on to spiritual maturity. We say to them, ‘Depart from evil, and do good’, praying that they will become ‘mature’, ‘trained by practice to know the difference between good and evil’(Psalm 34:14; Hebrews 5:14). To those who live in obedience to His Word, God gives the promise of His blessing – “Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book” (Revelation 21:7).

When You’re Down, Look To The Lord. He Loves You. He Will Lift You Up..

Life is full of ups and downs. For Elijah, there was a very high point. He prayed. ‘The fire of the Lord fell’. ‘All the people said, ‘The Lord, He is God’’(1 Kings 18:37-39). This was followed by a very low point: ‘O Lord, take away my life’(1 Kings 19:4). We are so changeable. Often, we feel like we are being torn apart. Our emotions pull us in different directions. Sometimes, we are full of joy. At other times, we are at the point of despair. We find ourselves in a turmoil of confused emotions. What are we to do? Are we to ‘pull ourselves together’? This seems to be the very thing we can’t manage to do. Are we to ‘hope for the best’- ‘Some day, some way, things will get better’? We think about this, and we wonder, ‘What happens if things get worse?’! Look to the Lord. His love is unchanged, unchanging and unchangeable. In all the many changes of our life, He still says to us, “I am the Lord, I do not change” (Malachi 3:6).

There Can Still Be A Spiritual Harvest ...

If, in today’s world, we are to enjoy a spiritual harvest which will be both satisfying to ourselves and glorifying to God, there are two things we must do. we must confess our sins. we must trust Christ for salvation. We look at our human situation – personally, locally, nationally and internationally – , and we say, “Apart from God, our situation is hopeless. Without Him, it will be nothing else but the downward slope.” We look then to the Cross of Christ, and we see that there is hope. If the Cross of Christ teaches us anything, it teaches us this, “No situation is too hopeless for the grace of God. However hopeless our situation may seem, it can be changed by the power and love of God.” There can still be a spiritual harvest, even in our difficult and distrssing times, but it will not come unless we put Christ at the centre of our lives.

A Harvest Sermon (Psalm 8).

"Sit, Walk, Stand" in Ephesians and Psalm 1

"Sit, Walk, Stand" - This is a useful summary of the message of Ephesians: "And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (2:6); "I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called" (4:1); "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (6:11).
"Sit, Walk, Stand" - We also find these words in the first Psalm: "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful" (v. 1). Concerning those who persist in walking in the counsel of the ungodly, standing in the way of sinners and sitting in the set of the scornful, the first Psalm says this: "Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous" (v.5).

What God Must Do For Us - Salvation. What We Must Do For God - Service.

* What God must do for us - He must save : "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him" (John 3:16-17).
* What we must do for God - We must serve: "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" (Isaiah 6:8).
-----
Salvation and service
* Salvation leads to service.
Those who have been saved by the Lord are to serve Him.
* Service arises out of salvation.
When we serve the Lord, we must never forget that we have been saved by Him.

Wrestling With God - And For God

"Let me go, for the day breaks ... I will not let you go unless you bless me!" (Genesis 32:26). George Philip describes this "incident" as "a parable of the whole of Jacob's life" - "On the one hand he wanted to hold on to God and yet he struggled against God."
We see ourselves in this. There is, within us, a constant turmoil of confused and confusing emotions. The Lord is drawing us to Himself. We draw back from Him. This is the battle of which Paul spoke in Romans 7:22-23 - "I delight in the law of God according to the inner man. But I see another law ... bringing me into captivity to the law of sin" - and Galatians 5:17 - "the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh." The 'wrestling with God', spoken of in Genesis 32, can also be described in terms of another kind of 'wrestling': "we do not wrestle against flesh and blood ... Therefore take up the whole armour of God ... " (Ephesians 6:12-13). Satan doessn't want us to hear God's words of encouragement - You are "no longer" what you were before you met with the Lord. You "have prevailed." You have been "blessed" by the Lord. He doesn't want us to have a spiritual testimony - " I have seen God ... " (Genesis 32:28-30). May the Lord deliver us from the sadness and shame of the "double-minded man" who is "unstable in all his ways" (James 1:8). In our 'wrestling', let us remember Jesus' 'wrestling' in the Garden of Gethsemane, and let us pray, with Him, " Father ... not as I will, but as You will" (Matthew 26:39).

Thoughts Worth Pondering

Rejecting True Friends

Rejecting true friends who have done you no wrong is not a formula for being embarrassed when you fall short. What does that accomplish? Shutting true friends out when you have fallen short is not a recipe for hard times. What fruit does that produce?

The Bow-Man

There everywhere, and yes even at church. The bow-man's.

They stretch their bows out having their arrows ready to shoot always looking for just one person to target. You see it makes up for their losses, and if you look past their pride, arrogance, titles and yes even the braided (slang for rats nest) hair. You'll see their true colors coming thru...

Remedy: Pray for them and give thanks to God. Why you might ask? Well aside from the fact that scripture states that we should pray for such people. If you look even further into the situation you'll probably find that someone has put them up to it.

Ah!.... blink... blink...

Jesus Had To Go. Jesus Came Back Again!

In Jesus’ trial, we see unity in evil (Luke 23:12). Politically, Pilate and Herod were at odds with each other. Spiritually, they were united in their opposition to Christ. Jesus was found guilty by neither Pilate nor Herod (Luke 23:13-16). They were Very Important People. Jesus was a threat to them. They held positions of great power. They could not allow Jesus to ‘upset the apple cart’. Three times, Pilate declared Jesus’ innocence (Luke 23:4, 14, 22). ‘Public opinion’said, ‘Crucify Him!’(Luke 23:21). Pilate had a problem. He would be ‘crucifying’ himself - politically - if he ignored public opinion. Pilate made his choice. Jesus had to go. Jesus went - but He came back again! There is real human drama here, but there is much more than that: There is God! Crucified by men, Raised by God (Acts 2:23-24): This is divine drama, the drama of redemption!

He Came To Call Sinners To Repentance

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Matt 9:13

This Is What The Spirit Says

Rev 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

Rev 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Rev 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Rev 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Rev 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Rev 3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

How Can We Refuse To Be Changed By God's Love?

There are times when it seems nothing is going right for us: ‘I am the man who has seen affliction...’(Lamentations 3:1-3). In such times, we must remember this: ‘The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end’. When we find ourselves in circumstances of great distress, we must learn to look beyond the things that are happening to us. We must learn to look to the Lord and say, ‘Great is Your faithfulness’. It will not be easy to see God at work in our lives when everything seems to be going wrong. We must be patient as we wait for the blessing of the Lord to return to our lives. We must put all our hope in the Lord, trusting in His precious promise: ‘The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord’(Lamentations 3:22-26). In our ‘grief’, we must not forget the ‘compassion’ of God (Lamentations 3:32). He understands us. He cares for us. How do we know that God loves us? ‘Christ died for us’(Romans 5:8). This is the greatest demonstration of God’s love for us. How can we doubt God’s love for us when we think of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, dying on the Cross for us as our Saviour? When we think of God’s love for us, we must remember that He calls us to love Him. We are not to take God’s love for granted - ‘God loves me. I can do what I like’. We are to appreciate God’s love - ‘God loves me. I will love Him’. God loves us. Christ died for us. How can we say, ‘I’ll do what I like’? How can we refuse to be changed by His love? ‘Let us examine our ways and turn back to the Lord. Let us open our hearts to God’(Lamentations 3:40-41).

Pocket Change Come Back

Just imagine if you had all the change, the coins that have ever passed through your hands. The pennies, nickels, dimes and so on. Wow! that just might add up to some major pocket change.

Now just imagine if you had a very large container and each day you placed your pocket change in that container and saved it. How much would you save in one year, or two, or five or ten.

I'm just wondering if life has been stealing your pocket change? All those times that you tried to save a little here and a little there.

Call it back! All that has been stolen from you. Call it back. In fact, lets call back all that has been stolen from us by that enemy that comes to rob. steal and destroy.

The Seed Is The Word Of God

Luk 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Luk 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Luk 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Luk 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

Luk 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

The All American Way

In all honesty and as much as I love our country America isn't doing so well these days. Things seem to be slipping away from money matters, to stock markets, banking, home sales, auto industries and so on.

Maybe what's wrong is the nation and country has fallen away from the ROCK and tried building it's future on sand.

If my people, called by my name, will humble themselves and pray.....

The Blood That Redeems

1Pe 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received]by tradition from your fathers;

The Holy Spirit Breathes New Life Into The Church Of God.

It was ‘a valley of dry bones’ (Ezekiel 37:1-2). Then, the Lord changed everything - ‘I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live’ (Ezekiel 37:5). What a difference the Lord makes! ‘Breathe on me, Breath of God. Fill me with life anew’ (Church Hymnary, 103). What happens when the Spirit of the Lord breathes new life into the Church of God? - ‘The Church that seemed in slumber has now risen from its knees and dry bones are responding with the fruits of new birth’. ‘Holy Spirit, we welcome You. Let the breeze of Your presence flow that Your children here might truly know how to move in the Spirit’s flow… Holy Spirit, we welcome You. Please accomplish in us today some new work of loving grace, we pray. Unreservedly, have Your way. Holy Spirit, we welcome You’ (Mission Praise, 274, 241).

Offered To Bear The Sins Of Many

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hbr 9:28

inhisgloriousnameministriesonline.blogspot.com

A Whole-Hearted Commitment To Jesus Christ

Luke 12:8-34
(1) The call to make a commitment of ourselves to Christ: "Whoever acknowledges Me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God" (Luke 12:8). This means more than paying lip-service to Christ. Choosing Him means choosing to live a life which shares His priorities. It is to be a whole-hearted commitment. Jesus teaches us what we are to avoid and what we are to seek. (2) What we are to avoid - "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed" (Luke 12:15). (3) What we are to seek - "Seek His Kingdom" (Luke 12:31).
(4) The choice we make reveals what is really important to us: "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Luke 12:34). A real confession of faith in Christ as your Saviour and Lord leads to a life lived in the light of eternity, a life which is shaped by the values of eternity, a life which the Bible calls "eternal life." This "eternal life" is not only far away in the in the future, far away in heaven. It is life here-and-now. It is life which is being transformed by the eternal perspective which Christ brings into our life. Christ challenges us: Will you treasure the things that are above? Or Will you place value only on the things that are below?

"The Seed Is The Word Of God."

Luke 8:1-15
"The seed is the Word of God" (Luke 8:11). This is what Jesus' parable of the sower is all about. It's about the Word of God. God's Word is sown in our hearts. God's Word bears fruit in our lives. The sowing of God's Word in our hearts requires patience. We don't reap the harvest right away. We must work patiently for the harvest which God will give to us in His time. Let us be faithful in sowing the seed of God's Word. Let's keep on praying that God will give to us the "hundredfold" harvest (Luke 8:8). May God help us to be faithful in sowing and fruitful in reaping. God's Word comes to us. It is given to us by the Lord. What are we doing with His Word? When God's Word is sown in our hearts, what kind of soil does it find there? Are we allowing it to grow in our hearts? Are we allowing God to produce His abundant harvest in our lives? God's Word emphasizes to us the direct connection between sowing and reaping: "Sow a thought, reap an action. Sow an action, reap a habit. Sow a habit, reap a character. Sow a character, reap a destiny." Let there be good soil. Let there be good thoughts and actions, good habits, good character and a great destiny.

Our New Life Is Life In Christ.

We have noted Christ's Word of forgiveness - "Friend, your sins are forgiven" (Luke 5:20) - and His call to repentance - "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" (Luke 5:32). Now, we turn our attention to another great theme of Christ's Gospel - conversion. This is emphasized in Luke 5:37-38: "no one pours new wine into old wineskins ... new wine must be poured into new wineskins." The contrast between the old and the new - This is what Jesus is speaking about here. Our old life is our life without Christ. Our new life is our life with Christ. Our old life is life in ourselves, life in our sin. Our new life is life in Christ, life in our Saviour. ... Here's a link to the rest of this sermon: Sermons on Luke's Gospel - Luke 5:33-39

Time For Change

Do you feel it? That it's time for change. Our President used the word change as a campaign slogan, and no doubt the country wanted change.

Yes it's time for change. Time to put prayer back in the schools, time to stop aborting and killing the unborn, time to stop living as a nation of greed ruled by powerful men and corporations, and time for America's leaders to lead by example as men and women leading Godly lives.

May we all pray for the leaders of our nation.

Then The Lord Said

Jer 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

Jer 14:15 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.

Remain in the word of God which is true.

Does God Allow Suffering

Interesting question. Here is a verse that might shed light on such.

1Pe 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Getting Ready For The Lord's Return

Matthew 24:32-25:13

‘The times they are-a-changing’. There is, however, one thing that remains constant. Jesus says, ‘My words will not pass away’ (35). In an age of unbelief, our faith is often under threat. We must stand upon this solid Rock: ‘The Word of the Lord stands forever’ (1 Peter 1:25). The scoffers will say, ‘Where is the promise of His coming?’ (2 Peter 3:3-4). We are to believe that ‘He is near’ (33). Christ has risen. He will return (1 Corinthians 15:20-23). When He returns need not concern us: ‘the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect’ (44). We are to be ready at all times (13) - doing the Lord's will (46). We are to be ‘faithful and wise’ (45). As ‘the bride of Christ’ (Revelation 19:7; 21:2), we await the Return of Christ our Bridegroom: ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet Him’ (6).

“Thank God … “

Thank God for His good days. It will help you to trust Him in your bad days.
——————–
Job 29:1-30:31
Don’t forget to remember! In his time of darkness, Job remembers: ‘when His lamp shone upon my head, and by His light I walked through darkness.’ When God seems so far away, Job remembers: ‘when the friendship of God was upon my tent; when the Almighty was yet with me’ (29:4-5). What are we to do when ‘the days of affliction come to meet’ us, when our days are full of ‘mourning’ and ‘weeping’ (30:27,31)? We must remember the good times, the happy days. When you find yourself wondering, ‘Why are these bad things happening to me?’, think of something else - ‘Why has God blessed me with so many good things?’ This will help you when everything seems so dark, when God seems so far away. Remember to thank God for His good days. It will help you to trust Him in your bad days.

Job 37:1-24

'The Almighty is great in power and...He does not oppress' (23). God's power is loving power. His love is powerful love. In Jesus Christ, we see God's power - 'He is able to save to the uttermost all who come to God through Him' - and God's love - 'I will never turn away anyone who comes to Me' (Hebrews 7:25; John 6:37). In our world, the love of power has become a very destructive thing. In Jesus Christ, we see something quite different - the power of love. He uses His power to show us His love. He shows us His love when - through His mighty power - He saves us. As you think of the Lord Jesus Christ - His loving power, His powerful love - , let 'His love and power control all you do and say': 'More love, more power, more of You in my life' (Church Hymnary, 432; Songs of Fellowship, 392)

Seedtime & Harvest

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Sow seeds, allow them to root, grow and produce a harvest of blessings. The seed is what's important.

Let The Living Water Of The Spirit Flow Freely Among God’s People.

The Bible’s opening chapter is a great hymn of praise, emphasizing that all things have been created for the glory of God (Revelation 4:11). Nothing can be permitted to distract our attention from the Lord. He alone is worthy of worship. The creation of the ‘lights’ makes no reference to the sun and the moon. These were worshipped by neighbouring peoples. They are not gods. They are simply ‘lights’. Our worship is to be given to God alone. The waters teemed with living creatures. The land produced living creatures. Here, we have a picture of life. There is life where the living water of the Spirit is flowing freely among God’s people (Ezekiel 47:5-9). This water brings life to the land (Ezekiel 47:12). Moving with the flow of God’s Spirit, we are to pray that ‘the water of life’ will flow freely ‘for the healing of the nations’ (Revelation 22:2).

Be Careful In Your Listening To God's Word.

Josiah had been a good king, but ‘he did not listen to the words of Neco from the mouth of God’. His mistake was very costly. He ‘fought’. He was ‘shot’ and ‘badly wounded’. He ‘died’ and was ‘buried’ (2 Chronicles 35:22-24). Be careful in your listening to God”s Word. Failure to obey His Word will be costly: ‘How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?’ (Hebrews 2:3). After Josiah’s time, there was terrible spiritual decline. Beginning with Jehoahaz (2 Chronicles 36:1-2; 2 Kings 23:31-32), the kings ‘did what was evil in the sight of the Lord’ (2 Chronicles 36:5, 9, 11-12). Was there any hope for the future? - Yes! ‘The Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia... to build Him a House at Jerusalem’. Like Cyrus, we must say to our neighbours, ‘Let us go to the House of the Lord’ (2 Chronicles 36:22-23; Psalm 122:1). His time of blessing may not be far away!

"Seven Days Without Prayer Makes One Weak!"

God allows His people to suffer difficulties. Why? - To strengthen our faith (Exodus 15:25; 16:4; Deuteronomy 8:2,16; 1 Peter 1:6-7). He chastens us, to teach us repentance (Revelation 3:19). Don't forget God’s love. He is faithful: ‘He didn’t bring us this far to leave us’. He shows us His glory (7). He assures us that He is God (Exodus 16:12). He provides us with ‘daily bread’ (Exodus 16:4). Yesterday’s ‘bread’ is insufficient for today’s challenges (Exodus 16:19-20). ‘Morning by morning’, the ‘bread’ is to be gathered (Exodus 16:21; Lamentations 3:22-23). Jesus is the Living Bread (John 6:32-35,48-51). Feed on Him each day. Don’t invite spiritual starvation by missing days. If you miss some days, don’t let it continue. Remember: ‘Seven days without prayer makes one weak’! ‘How long has it been since you talked with the Lord?’ Too long? It is time to pray and feed on Jesus!

"A happy ending ... "

A happy ending - "salvation ready to be revealed in the las time".
-----

Job 42:1-17

After so much suffering - a happy ending! Job has been brought closer to God (5-6). His "friends" have been forgiven by the Lord (7-9). Everybody is happy about the way things have turned out for Job (10-11). Is there always a happy ending? In this earthly life, we will never reach a stage where there will be no more problems and everything will be just fine. For God's people - "redeemed with the precious blood of Christ" - , there will be a 'happy ending' - but not until "the last time"! For now, we must face many "trials." Beyond our "little while" of suffering there is a 'happy ending' - "salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." We must pray that our "faith, more precious than gold, will be proved genuine and will result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed." (1 Peter 1:3-7,18-19).

We Are Weak. Christ Is Strong.

In Solomon, we see strength and weakness. He was strong - ‘the House of the Lord was completed’ (2 Chronicles 8:16). He was also weak. He was infatuated with foreign women, who did not belong among the redeemed people of God. He married ‘Pharaoh’s daughter’, a woman who had no love for ‘the holy places’ of worship (2 Chronicles 8:11). To the queen of Sheba, a woman who had more love for ‘her own land’ than for life among the people of God, ‘Solomon gave all that she desired’ (9:12). Solomon was a complicated man. He had a real love for the Lord, yet the world still had a strong hold on him. “O let me feel Thee near me: the world is ever near; I see the sights that dazzle, the tempting sounds I hear; My foes are ever near me, around me and within; but, Jesus, draw Thou nearer, and shield my soul from sin’ (Church Hymnary, 434).

Let The 'Giants' Come Tumbling Down.

Victory belongs to God. Victory is given by God. This is the great lesson of David’s victories - ‘the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went’ (1 Chronicles 18:6,13). There are no ‘giants’ able to stand in the presence of God (1 Chronicles 20:8). Every ‘giant’ must be brought to the ground. There are ‘giants’ standing in the way of our spiritual growth. The ‘giants’ of unbelief, disobedience, spiritual pride and self-righteousness must not be allowed to hinder our growth in grace. We must fight our spiritual battles in the strength of the Lord, confident that , through His ‘divine power’, ‘every proud obstacle to the knowledge of God’ will be brought to nothing (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). Let the ‘giants’ come tumbling down. ‘Grow in the grace and knowledge our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ’. Give all the ‘glory’ to Him (2 Peter 3:18).
